Ageism Awareness Day

On October 7, The American Society on Aging (ASA) is recognizing Ageism Awareness Day to bring attention to the existence and impact of ageism in our society and promote a positive reframing of aging within our communities. ASA's Ageism & Culture Advisory Council, at the forefront of initiatives against ageism, collaborates with members to reshape conversations about aging. 

ASA has prepared various resources in preparation for Ageism Awareness Day, including:

• A social media toolkit with sample posts and ideas on how to advocate on social media.

• A press release template to complete and share with local media.

• A list of facts about ageism.

• A call to action with ideas about how you can promote Ageism Awareness Day.

• An Opinion piece to customize and share with local media outlets.

• A sample proclamation to share with your local government and elected officials.

• Ageism Awareness Day logos to share.
