Execute your Plan: Developing Relationship with Potential Payers and Community Partners

Event Description:

Over the last two months, the HCBS Business Acumen Center webinar series has described how Community Based Organizations (CBO) serving people with disabilities can prepare their organizations for the future by gathering information about their current business environment through an environmental scan and SWOT analysis and using that information to develop their strategic plan. This webinar will discuss one of the first steps in execution that many CBOs will need to address – establishing and/or developing relationships with potential payers and community partners. If your CBO is seeking to partner with a health payer for the first time, it can be hard to know where to start. “Who is the right person to connect with?” “What do I tell them?” “What do I need to learn about them?” The answers to these will help you formulate the basis of a meaningful strategic partnership. From here, an understanding and willingness to modify or adjust your approach will be important to solidify that partnership. Rita Wiersma, Chief Executive Officer at Community Involvement Programs in Minneapolis, MN will describe how to become a trusted partner while maintaining the balance between mission and margin.
