The National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE), which represents the special education directors of the 50 states and 11 federal jurisdictions, is seeking to fill the position of executive director for 2019 and beyond.
The NASDSE Board of Directors is looking for a dynamic leader with expertise in effective leadership and management, strong communication skills and public relations, and who seeks to lead the national organization with the mission of working with state education agencies to ensure that all children and youth with disabilities receive the educational supports and services they need from birth to be prepared for post-school education, career and independent living choices.
The executive director supervises a dedicated staff with expertise in establishing and maintaining relationships with those individuals and groups responsible for the development of policies, educational and other programs serving individuals with disabilities, and those responsible for implementation at the school, local district, state and national levels.
